This study presents an estimation of the CO2 emission generation caused by transportation of faculty and administrative personnel during the Spring Semester 2014 at Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Data was obtained from an electronic survey applied to 491 people. The mass of CO2 generated was obtained using two independent methods: the principle of conservation of mass applied to complete combustion of fossil fuels and an emission factors method. Results indicate an agreement better than 1% between the two methods. Emissions due to faculty air travel were also taken into account. Results indicate that every faculty member at USFQ generates approximately 833.76 kg of CO2 per semester. Air travel contributes with a 60% of the total faculty emissions. This study is complementary to a previous calculation of CO2emissions generated by student transportation. Results show that students, professors and administrative personnel generate collectively 1904.6 Ton of CO2 per semester.
