Abstract
We report two new localities for Podiceps major in Ecuador: La Tembladera wetland and the Tahuín dam. At the last locality we found the first nest from Ecuador, for which we describe its structure and the building behaviour of the couple. Furthermore, we describe the courtship and territorial calls of the species.
