Abstract
We present the first description of the advertisement call of Noblella lochites based on recordings obtained at the Cordillera del Condor, province of Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador. The call of N. lochites has 6-8 pulsed notes of 369-537 ms, with a dominant frequency of 3.51-3.93 kHz. Variation in the number of pulsed notes in captive individuals suggests that Noblella frogs may have complex responses to stress situations.
