We present the first nesting record of the Peruvian Pelican Pelecanus thagus in Ecuador, at Isla Santa Clara Wildlife Refuge, gulf of Guayaquil, province of El Oro. We provide descriptions of the nests and location. The Isla Santa Clara Wildlife Refuge is the first breeding colony of this species in Ecuador, highlighting the importance of the island conservation.
