Abstract
This paper presents a model used for the study of the parameters of interest to modify the accuracy in estimating the Time of Arrival (TOA) of the signal emitted by a mobile subscriber operating in a Code Division Multiple Access system (CDMA) that uses a RAKE receiver as part of their operation. This model fits systems such as IS-95, CDMA 2000 or WCDMA, to propagate signals in Rayleigh condition. This work shows the performance of the receiver based on the number of channel estimates available, the number of sensors that comprise the antenna array and the type of signal source when sampling rate is higher than chip rate. The received signal is modeled from stochastic distributions, and both cases are considered partially coherent distributed sources, such as cases of completely coherent sources and completely inconsistent sources
