Abstract
Rosalía Arteaga Serrano is an Ecuadorian social activist, politician, writer and educator, who served as president and vice president of the Republic of Ecuador between 1996 and 1997. Among her most important positions She was councilwoman of the Cuenca canton between 1986 and 1988, delegate of the Undersecretary of Culture for the provinces of Azuay and Cañar between 1986 and 1990, Undersecretary of Culture and president of the Editorial Council of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 1986 and 1990, and president of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 1997.
