Abstract

A new case of partial leucism is described from an individual of Andean Coot Fulica ardesiaca. It was observed and photographed in the Lake San Pablo, canton Otavalo, province of Imbabura, Ecuador. White marks were present on the wings, throat and venter, while the rest of the body showed the gray-black typical coloration.

Se describe un nuevo caso de leucismo parcial en un individuo de Focha Andina Fulica ardesiaca. Se observó y fotografío en el Lago San Pablo, cantón Otavalo, provincia de Imbabura, Ecuador. Marcas blancas estuvieron presentes en las alas, garganta y vientre, mientras que el resto del cuerpo presentaba la coloración gris-negruzca típica.
