Abstract

We report the predation of a pull of Slate-colored Coot Fulica ardesiaca (Rallidae) by Andean Gull Chroicocephalus serranus (Laridae) in Laguna de Colta, Chimborazo province. Our record represents the first formal report of a bird species that C. serranus preys on in Ecuador. In addition, by reviewing citizen science platforms with documentation, we found that this gull in Argentina also preys on Fulica sp. eggs and feeds on rodents.
