This research studies the importance of teaching plain legal writing to undergraduate law students as a means of ensuring access to justice. To this end, the concept of plain legal language is identified, and its teaching within the curricula of the main law schools in Bogotá, Colombia, is examined. A hermeneutic methodology is employed, and the data collection technique is documentary. The research indicates that the lack of instruction in plain language legal writing for undergraduate law students results in legal writing in Colombia negatively impacting access to justice.
