The School of Medicine of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ held the event entitled "Quitting smoking... the real public health problem now...", in which national and international experts reviewed from the chemical aspects of nicotine, to the problems of the individual who cannot quit smoking, to the neuro-psychiatric effects and, of course, the possible alternatives. This academic event aimed mainly at health professionals was made possible free of charge thanks to an unrestricted educational grant provided by ITABSA, and in order to broaden its dissemination, the proceedings of this event were prepared through a collaboration established with ILADIBA, a Colombian medical-scientific publishing house.
