About the journal

Bitácora Académica USFQ is an organ of dissemination of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito that reflects the reflective, critical, plural and free spirit of its academic community. The primary objective is to report on scientific, academic and humanistic work through updated reviews that are published electronically, all in order to bring knowledge to society as a whole. The articles in Bitácora Académica USFQ refer to the "state of the art" of a specific subject. The publication of articles seeks fundamentally to facilitate and promote the circulation of knowledge, the exchange of ideas, their discussion and subsequent commentary, proving to be an essential tool for understanding a particular topic.

Bitácora Académica USFQ is an annual academic publication, open access, published in digital format and disseminated through the website of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Each issue includes between 1 to 3 academic reviews in Spanish language that may include various topics of general interest.

Bitácora Académica USFQ has an Editorial Committee made up of academics from the University as internal reviewers who, in turn, are supported by academics or researchers belonging to other institutions of higher education at national and international level, who act as external reviewers. All contributions will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee and, if necessary, by one or two experts in the field, whose comments will be sent for the author's consideration. Accepted papers will be submitted to a style and dissemination editor. In case of major corrections, they will be sent to the author for approval.

Under the principle of making information freely available to the public and fostering the exchange of global knowledge, Bitácora Académica USFQ is a peer-reviewed academic publication that provides immediate free access to its content.

Bitácora Académica USFQ is committed to encouraging interest in science, the arts and humanities by providing the general public with articles consisting of rigorous, up-to-date reviews of a particular topic.

The journal is published in digital format, and when the review article needs it, it provides the appropriate interactivity to complement the information provided.

Bitácora académica USFQ is published by Universidad San Francisco de Quito, the only private, non-profit, liberal arts university in Ecuador that is fully committed to education, research and development. All new articles will be published electronically as soon as they are approved by the editorial committee in the annual edition of the journal.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing the public with free access to research helps to increase the global exchange of knowledge.
