Abstract
This conversation between filmmaker Nora de Izcue and curator Florencia Portocarrero revisits Runan Caycu (1973), a documentary that became a landmark in Latin American political cinema for its revolutionary approach to representing Indigenous subjectivity. Through their dialogue, they reconstruct the origins of the project, the state censorship it faced, its collaborative dimension, and De Izcue’s role as a pioneer in a historically male-dominated field.
