Abstract

The art of ancestral medicine is a photographic series by Maruch Sántiz Gómez (Crutzon, San Juan Chamula, Mexico, 1975). The artist portrays various medicinal plants and collects testimonies from elders of the Chamula communities, who give an account of the use of each plant.
