Abstract

The Whopping Motmot Momotus subrufescens is an opportunistic species that feeds on fruit, invertebrates, and vertebrates. I report a  depredation event of a Green Iguana (Iguana iguana) observed in the Guayaquil Botanical Garden, Guayas province. This record contributes to knowledge about the depredation capabilities and the foraging behavior of M. subrufescens.
