Abstract

A las casas is an expression referring to the homes in working-class neighborhoods, typical of the country’s “interior” regions, which are often marginalized (rural or urbanized). It is also an affective term that denotes the common place where life unfolds and where communities resist the neglect of public policies under neoliberal states. This essay seeks to articulate some connections between critical pedagogical practices and the construction of a shared memory concerning the effects of trauma from political, social, and sex-racial violence.
