Inaccuracies regarding the Right to Resistance in Ecuador

The right to resistance, a right exercised in significant events such as the French Revolution was, for the first time, recognized in Ecuador through the Constitution approved in 2008. However, this does not mean that this right has not been exercised before by Ecuadorians, or that its use is frequently overlooked because of not knowing this right. On the contrary, there are clear examples that demonstrate that the right to resistance has manifested itself in Ecuador, but not always in an adequate way. Reason why, and by the generality with which this one was recognized in the Constitution, It is essential to know its content, as it grants broad powers to its users, being possible to compare it with a constitutional guarantee. .
