Abstract

The Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus is a cosmopolitan bird of prey with a mainly ornithophagous diet. During a trip along the Napo River we observed a depredation event of a Snowy Egret Egretta thula by a F. peregrinus on a beach of the Napo River, in the northern border of Yasuní National Park in Ecuador. This observation represents an addition to our knowledge of the trophic ecology of this falcon in its wintering range.
