USFQ Law Review Vol. XI No. 1: Call for papers (closing on January 15, 2024)
USFQ Law Review is an academic, arbitrated and indexed journal. It is published annually since 2013 and, as of 2021, the periodicity is semestral. The journal is entirely administrated by undergraduate students of the Faculty of Jurisprudence of Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ. It is edited through a double-blind peer review process with the participation of law experts at a national and international level.
The purpose of USFQ Law Review is to provide a space for students, professionals, and academics alike to publish legal research articles that raise different perspectives and critical opinions on relevant legal issues. In addition, USFQ Law Review seeks to promote and, in turn, raise the quality of the legal discussion in Ecuador and throughout the region, addressing the needs of the legal community, both nationally and internationally, in order to position itself as one of the most prominent research sources, for its high-quality academic content.
USFQ Law Review is currently cataloged in: Latindex (Catálogo 2.0); Latindex (Directorio); ISSN Portal; Crossref; ROAD; DOAJ; MIAR; REBID; Sherpa Romeo; Aura-AmeliCA; CORE; Internet Archive; I2OR; SIS; Google Scholar. Additionally, all our contents are public and can be found on our website, SSRN, LEXIS, CEP's virtual store, Academia.edu, SSRN y Mendeley.
For these reasons, we are pleased to invite all interested parties to publish with us and be a part of our next Volume.
Volume XI, issue 1 of the magazine will be presented in May 2024. For this reason, the call for papers to be submitted to the admission process is open till January 15th 2024. After this date, the articles that have been accepted for the editing and subsequent publication process will be announced.
It is essential that the articles that are to be submitted to the admission process meet the following publication criteria for articles: (i) relevance and innovation of the legal problem addressed; (ii) argumentative and critical content; (iii) sufficiency in research and adequate management of academic sources; (iv) structure, format and citation system detailed in the USFQ Law Review Author's Guide; (v) minimum length of 5,000 words and maximum 35 pages of content; and, (vi) that it has not been previously published or is not being considered for another publication.
The following elements are up to the author: the number of authors of the article; the subject, subject and area of "‹"‹the legal problem addressed in the article; and, the writing of the article in Spanish or English.
In order to ensure quality standards, as well as an impartial process, the reception of articles is anonymous and is done by sending by the papers through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Authors must also send the same article via Google Forms platform, in order to store the work in case of potential failures of the OJS platform.
It should be noted that our magazine does not charge the authors any fee for sending, editing or publishing.
