Is there a Political Culture in Ecuador?

Abstract
Not even the first President of Ecuador was born in our country. Juan José Flores, Venezuelan by birth, married to Mercedes Jijón, (lady of the Quiteña aristocracy), was a great ally to achieve the freedom of the country. But he was an "outsider", a characteristic that has marked the political tendencies of our history, since the foundation of Ecuador. The mistrust that arises from this, in turn, raises problems of identity and is an impediment to the creation of a political culture that is well rooted and is attached to what we really are and how we work.
