The interview discusses changes in migration flows in Latin America post-COVID-19. After an initial decrease due to restrictions, an increase was observed, linked to criminality and economic impacts. The United States has historically been the main destination, with significant Venezuelan migration and applied protective measures. Cuba also experiences a rising migration trend. Colombia adopts a humanitarian approach, and the United States implements innovative measures and collaborates with neighboring countries. Policies are executed through executive decrees, with challenges in integrating human rights standards. Emphasis is placed on ensuring safe and accessible channels, protection against deportation, and the promotion of integration while combating xenophobia.
