Women in Ecuadorian Television Newscasts Representation Analysis

Abstract
The study records the results of an analysis of the representation of the female presenters of the stellar newscasts Televistazo from Ecuavisa, 24 Horas from Teleamazonas and Telediario from Ecuador TV to assess whether said representation is built under contemporary and dominant parameters on femininity. The investigation was carried out for three weeks in March 2020, a period in which the health crisis caused by COVID-19 reached Ecuador. On one hand, this work collects data on time, number of appearances, postures, settings, wardrobe, hairstyle, makeup, age and ethnicity of the presenters.
