Abstract

Around the world there are areas and stories with different levels of risk for journalists whose mission is to prevent the proliferation of black holes of information. Aware that the mission of informing is not a bulletproof vest, the Security Department of France Médias Monde, headed by Jean-Christophe Gérard, has developed a mapping of risk areas and danger scenarios to create appropriate security protocols to the different situations faced by journalists and correspondents sent and local. Neither the professional autonomy of the journalists of the media group France Médias Monde nor their lives are compromised in the field after four years of creation and implementation of the mapping and protocols. Jean-Christophe Gérard details in this interview this security system that is not an intervention in editorial work, but a support in the field of reporting.
