Abstract

This article, based on the Femmedia project (2024), reflects on the state of journalism in relation to gender in Ecuador. Through data and testimonies, it reveals systemic and multidimensional inequalities: low representation, insecurity, stereotypes, discrimination, and violence. These findings highlight scenarios of labor precariousness and the urgent need for a public agenda that ensures equity and safety in journalistic and communication work.
