Reinventing the Chronicle: The Use of the Genre on Digital Intercultural Narratives
Main Article Content
Abstract
Over the last 20 years, the rise of the Latin American journalistic chronicle has involved a series of transition and transmutation processes based on the positioning of the internet as a prominent publication medium. In Ecuador, this wave has birthed a set of digital journalism projects with an alternative proposal, which
accentuates narrative, research and the use of multimedia resources to enhance the force of stories. Through the matrix valuation of digital content, this research clarifies the assiduity with which multimedia, hypertext and interactive elements are used in various chronicles published by three of the most outstanding digital native media, finding certain inaccuracies regarding their constitution as formats of digital nature.
