Ameloblastoma and ossifying fibroma in the same jaw: Presentation of a clinical case
Main Article Content
Abstract
Ameloblastoma, as well as ossifying fibroma, are two of the most common lesions of the jaws of epithelial origin, which produce local expansion of the tissues, both can appear between the second and third decade of life, are aggressive, slow-growing, usually Asymptomatic, although in rare cases they can be painful, so their early clinical diagnosis is difficult, they present a high tendency to relapse. Among the radiological characteristics, the ossifying fibroma presents as a well-defined mixed image separated from the surrounding bone by an isodense halo, while the ameloblastoma appears as a well circumscribed unilocular or multilocular radiolucent lesion. The aim of this article is to report the case of a patient in whom these two lesions have been presented in the same hemomandible.
