Abstract
Anterior crossbite is an increasingly observable malocclusion in developing pediatric patients. Their understanding and analysis of etiological factors is essential for the search for an appropriate, comfortable and effective treatment to redirect the abnormal growth pattern. Thus, this article reports a clinical case of an 8-year-10-month-old female patient. After the clinical evaluation and complementary tests, the patient received the diagnosis of anterior crossbite associated with atypical swallowing. Faced with this situation, the establishment of oral myofunctional therapy is proposed as a treatment, which is manifested as a unique and effective therapeutic alternative to restore aesthetics, functionality and self-esteem.
