Abstract
This work deals with the performance of the time-frequency methods: Short Time Fourier Transform, Wavelet Transform, Wigner-Ville, Choi-Williams and Matching Pursuit. Data acquisition was performed using a National Instruments card (NI 6221), and the signal processing was made using Matlab on a personal computer. The processing time was measured and the test was made in different sample rates. The results show that Matching Pursuit is the most suitable for precision and details, but at the same time is the most demanding in terms of computational resources and the maximum sampling frequency was 2 (KHz) for avoiding the computer collapse.
