Abstract

This study analyzes the communication of the Shuar People as a form of insurgent journalism in response to the dominant media discourse in Ecuador. Based on a methodology that interweaves ethnographic approaches, life narratives, and critical discourse analysis, it identifies narrative practices that generate meaning and sustain community, while challenging hegemonic frameworks of representation and projecting other ways of speaking, knowing, and resisting from within territorial rootedness.
