Abstract

This article focuses on studying the emerge of digital media and its characteristics during the pandemic in Ecuador. Through a methodology with a historical perspective, primary databases were used. The 2019 and 2020 Public Media Registry cadasters were compared. It was concluded that between March and December 2020, 27 digital media were born in the country, most of them are located in the provinces of the Sierra, cover general issues and are of private origin.
