This new volume of ACI Avances en Ciencias e Ingenierías reflects the diversity and multidisciplinary nature of current research in science and engineering. The twelve articles included in this edition address topics ranging from ecology, renewable energy, and food preservation to seismic analysis, computational modeling, materials science, urban health, and advanced engineering applications. These contributions demonstrate the growing scientific capacity of researchers working on problems of both local and global relevance.
Several studies in this issue focus on challenges related to sustainability and energy, including sustainable ethylene production, fuel generation through pyrolysis processes, and solutions aimed at improving industrial efficiency. Other works explore environmental and biological topics such as species distribution, ecological behavior, and food preservation technologies. In addition, research on seismic deformation, cosmic ray detection systems, electrochromic devices, and advanced engineering design highlights the increasing complexity and interdisciplinary nature of modern scientific research.
For ACI Avances en Ciencias e Ingenierías, maintaining high editorial standards is fundamental to strengthening its international visibility and impact. During recent months, the journal has advanced in this direction through applications to scientific indexing and visibility systems such as Biblat and Web of Science (WOS), representing an important step in its process of international consolidation.
As part of this editorial strengthening process, an official LaTeX template was also recently incorporated with the aim of facilitating manuscript preparation, improving article standardization, and enhancing the technical presentation of published works.
Likewise, expanding the journal’s presence in international databases such as Scopus has become a new strategic goal. Achieving this objective will require continued efforts to strengthen editorial quality, promote international collaboration, and consolidate rigorous and transparent peer-review processes.
Beyond indexes and metrics, these efforts represent an opportunity to strengthen scientific communication in Latin America and create spaces where researchers, students, and academic institutions can actively contribute to global scientific discussions while addressing challenges relevant to their own communities.
In this scenario, universities, researchers, reviewers, and editors share a common responsibility: ensuring that scientific progress continues to be guided by originality, ethical principles, and critical thinking. As science and technology continue to evolve, journals such as ACI Avances en Ciencias e Ingenierías will remain essential platforms for promoting innovative, transparent, and socially relevant scientific research.
